The choice of accommodation is yours whether it is Bed and Breakfast, a five star hotel, a caravan or holiday park, what about a canal boat or a cottage in the country. Whichever chosen county the diversity of England is yours to savour. In 1910 the towns of Tunstall, Stoke, Burslem, Fenton, Hanley & Longton amalgamated to form the area Stoke-on-Trent and became also known as the The Potteries. This area derived its name from the numerous products made from fine bone china. This is the home of Wedgwood, Minton, Doulton and Spode all very fine china makers. On another side baths, toilets and wall tiles also help to make the world aware of the Staffordshire Potteries. Visits can be arranged to these pottery factories and other less known. Josiah Wedgewood built a worker's village Etritia and the last surviving pottery mill powered by steam can be seen at the Etruria Industrial Museum. The Gladstone Pottery Museum with it complex Victorian workshops shows demonstrations of pottery made in the traditional way and The Potteries Museum and Art Gallery at Hanley houses historic and modern ceramics. Ten miles north of Stoke-on-Trent is Little Moreton Hall is a fine example of a half timbered Tudor Manor House which the Moreton family had built between 1440 and 1580. It has a rectangular moat, a Long Gallery portraying original murals depicting Destiny and Fortune. The informal reception room, The Parlour shows Biblical scenes such as Susannah and the Elders expressing religious faith and learning. The oldest part of the house is the Great Hall building commenced in 1440 used for communal eating and entertainment. The glazed great bay window is very typical of the 16th century the time of its construction; small pieces of glass were cut into diamond pieces and held together by lead glazed bars.
